In April, I was in the market for an SLC as a second car. I checked the main dealers and then the specialists. I have not bought a car from a specialist for decades so there was a reluctance and hesitancy on my part to make the enquiry of Tim Purslow’s SLC.

That reluctance and hesitation was totally unnecessary. Both Tim’s and Rory’s passion for cars, the marque and sincerity for their busing quickly came to the fore and continued throughout the process.

Main dealers could learn a lot from this company.

When I am next in the market for another toy especially a Mercedes, they will be my first port of call.

I recently took my SL500 in for a check over, as I’m planning to take it abroad, ( when allowed ) and found both Leon and Rory to be very friendly and knowledgeable.
After receiving a very detailed report I returned the car for the work to be carried out, which was done to a high standard at a fair price.
Faultless experience all round.

Where do I start with what an exceptional experience buying a car from Rory and Tim is. Being a huge petrol head I had narrowed my search to a particular Mercedes model and as many people do, searched main dealers as well as independent dealers. Rory started to converse with me over email and it was clear that knowledge and experience were far superior from to be honest young sales people at main dealers who do not really know the marque they are selling. I am fortunate to live pretty close to Hook so was invited to pop in and chat further with Rory and see the car (no pressure selling here!). When main dealers send a video with a scratched car, low tyre pressure warnings on dash etc, they really need to learn what the client should expect from a car that is ready to sell. Needless to say the car Rory left me to view over was excellent. Picked up the car over the weekend with Tim, again having a good car chat during handover. I and the family love the car and I cannot urge people enough to bypass main dealers in this day and age and go to the likes of Tim Purslow.

Never visited the show room but part exchanged my beloved Aston Martin DB9 and bought a Mercedes CLS 300d AMG Line Premium Plus Coupe. Tim came very close to my trade in expectations and I bought a stunning Mercedes with very desirable spec and light interior. Tim was helpful and supportive at all stages and my car was delivered to my door in pristine condition, exactly as described. Went back for a first service and received the same attention to detail from Rory and all done for nearly £200 under our Mercedes main dealers quote and I sat in their garden with a quality cup of coffee. Mercedes should send their people to be trained by Tim’s crew.

Great experience with team at Tim Purslow. Tim, Rory and Leon are always welcoming, efficient, knowledgable and available. Most recently they have fixed and serviced my Range Rover and previously my E Class Mercedes. Always a stunning selection of premium Mercedes and other exotic marques for sale.

Where do I start with what an exceptional experience buying a car from Rory and Tim is?

Being a huge petrol head, I had narrowed my search to a particular Mercedes model and as many people do, searched main dealers as well as independent dealers.

Rory started to converse with me over email and it was clear that knowledge and experience were far superior from, to be honest, young sales people at main dealers who do not really know the marque they are selling.

I am fortunate to live pretty close to Hook so was invited to pop in and chat further with Rory and see the car (no pressure selling here!). When main dealers send a video with a scratched car, low tyre pressure warnings on dash etc, they really need to learn what the client should expect from a car that is ready to sell.

Needless to say, the car Rory left me to view over was excellent. Picked up the car over the weekend with Tim, again having a good car chat during handover.

I and the family love the car and I cannot urge people enough to bypass main dealers in this day and age and go to the likes of Tim Purslow.

This is the first Google review I’ve ever done but just have to say something about the stupendous after -sales service I have just received from Tim Purslow Mercedes.
I bought a rare v12 S600 as a used car from Tim Purslow at the beginning of October. In the last month I haven’t been driving very much (for obvious reasons) and the car developed battery charging issues. Finally, 5 days ago, it just wouldn’t start and I had to call out the RAC. Turns out the issue wasn’t the battery but the alternator.
I’d assumed that the used-car warranty was only going to be 3 months but when I checked the paperwork, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was actually 6 months, meaning that I was still covered.
The company accepted the repair was covered under the warranty without any quibbling or passing me around the houses. The same person who took the call authorised the repair. I was not even put on hold at any point. the only problem was driving the car there as the RAC had said that even with the brand new battery they had fitted, such a powerful car should not be driven more than 10 miles without an alternator recharging the battery and I live 80 miles away.
Instead of using this as a get-out-of-jail-free card on the repair, Tim Purslow Mercedes not only arranged recovery of my vehicle but dropped of a brand new E220 for use as a courtesy car. Moreover, this all happened on the same day, within about 4 hours of my initial call. Each day since, the same technician who arranged recovery of my vehicle has called to update me on the repair and – despite the loss of a day waiting for the new alternator to arrive – my car was repaired and ready for collection yesterday afternoon.
I am now back at home with my vehicle only 4 days after a very serious breakdown. This level of classy service is at another level, going well beyond 5 star and anything you could get at a regular Mercedes dealershipby any reasonable measure. As such, I cannot speak too highly of Tim Purslow Mercedes. Keep up the great work!

This is the second C-Class Estate in the last four years that I have purchased from Tim Purslow Ltd. Both cars were in ‘as new’
condition.

In comparison with other dealers, the price and high specification could not be matched. I was pleased with the fair trade in
valuation of my vehicle and felt that my being satisfied with the purchase was as important as the sale to Rory, which in my
experience of buying cars for fifty years is very rare.
Well worth the drive from Norfolk to pick the car up.

I had been to view several cars supposedly in excellent condition from other dealers including

MB dealerships and had been very disappointed with them. The issues I had found ranged from cracked screens to dents and deep scratches, maybe I am fussy but to me this is not excellent condition.

Making long journeys to view cars with a 3 year old only to be disappointed is very disheartening

Bought a second hand SLK AMG from Rory at Tim Purslow. What a difference from the run of the mill buying experience, this is how all cars should be sold and supported. Car was presented beautifully, the buying (and finance) process was slick, and the handover carefully thought through. Have never met a dealer who took the trouble to program my home address into the SatNav, or pre-configured the top stations on the radio. It’s the attention to detail and obvious care and attention that made the buying experience second to none. It’s obviously a tactic that works, as I will be sure to take the car back in for a service when it becomes due! Top work guys, wish you continued success.

After looking all over for a well priced, well speced Mercedes A Class and receiving poor experience with pushy salesmen at the main dealerships I decided to contact Tim Purslow.

Speaking to Tim it was obvious that his Mercedes knowledge was second to none.

Having to part exchange a van on a hire purchase made me quite a tricky customer, this seemed not to phase Tim as he did all he could to ensure the process went smoothly and efficiently.

Other dealers take note, this is exactly how purchasing a used vehicle should be.

For starters the car. I bought a C class coupe which was immaculately presented, Tim Purslow had ensured that every detail demonstrated ‘as new’ quality, including refurbishment of the alloys. They only source first rate Merc examples and once they have finished with them, they simply look brand new. The price fairly represented the quality of the car. The TP website I believe lends itself to conveying a real sense of knowledge and passion in the vehicles and therefore the mindset of its proprietors. It has excellent images and all in, adds to the feeling of a quality establishment. This is important as when having to travel some distance to visit TP and then when considering parting with this sort of cash, one wants to feel assured with the company they are dealing with, beforehand and when they get there.

And then the service.

The car of course could practically sell itself but the service was truly exceptional. I had the pleasure of meeting Rory who took a highly professional yet friendly and laid back approach to the sale. I’m not sure there is anything Rory doesn’t know about Mercedes cars, and he takes great time and pleasure to explain all one needs to know. He clearly loves Mercedes and now so do I having moved from BMW. When collecting the car, again Rory took much time in ensuring I knew everything I should and even personalised the Command system for me, as a matter of course. It was clearly important to Rory that I should be able to enjoy the car to its fullest and he gave me great confidence that I was dealing with a highly reputable and professional company.

To conclude the whole experience was great. The car was superb and the service really second to none. I will be using TP for my future servicing etc as they are really nice, trustworthy people.

First impressions do count, and on arriving at Tim Purslow MB you cannot help but be impressed. I have never used anyone other than my local Mercedes Benz main dealer in the twenty-five years that I’ve been buying their cars but the engineers at Tim Purslow are THAT good that I’ve changed my mind, and here’s why.

Our ML developed the infamous MB ‘brake pedal hiss’ – a worrying and noticeable air leak from the region of the brake servo that could be heard every time we used the foot brake pedal. This fault is well reported on MB forums. The obvious fear was that this was a safety critical issue requiring an urgent fix as the car was potentially less safe than normal. With repeated use, a rubber seal eventually splits and this affects the boosted hydraulic pressure provided by the brake servo.

The received wisdom is that the brake servo contains no serviceable parts and therefore cannot be repaired, only replaced at great expense. I Googled the symptoms and from my limited research I was initially depressed to see that a) it has occurred in various models of MB cars and b) no-one had a cure – although one was hinted at. Now, I’m not a frustrated or gifted engineer but the logic didn’t make sense that it couldn’t be repaired.

Fortuitously, a Tim Purslow marketing flyer had been placed on my car earlier and instead of binning it automatically (because it was from ‘merely’ a specialist) and recognising the Purslow name as having a long MB association; having been ex-Main Dealers, I rang and spoke to Rory. I explained that, in my opinion, it might be fixed without replacing the whole servo but I would need some ‘proper’ old fashioned engineers to test the theory. He couldn’t have been more helpful. We agreed that if I could track down a part then they would be pleased to attempt a fix. This conversation would not have had the same outcome if I had approached my usual Main Dealer, who although highly trained do not have the same flexibility of approach that Tim’s teams do.

I sourced the part for a few pounds (so little that the overseas postage was half the total cost) and after some research and a discussion between the Purslow engineers and I, the whole procedure was completed, first attempt, in a couple of hours and the total bill was between a third and a quarter (depending on where you get the fix applied) of a Main Dealer full servo replacement price.

To the best of my knowledge, Tim Purslow are the only firm in the UK that can now offer this service.

The car is now back up to full braking efficiency and I can’t rate these guys highly enough; they are proper engineers and not just mechanics.

During August 2015, I decided to update my Mercedes SLK. During a rainy day on holiday, I browsed the Internet to see what was around and discovered Tim Purslow. They had a car that attracted me on their site and they looked to be the professional organisation that they are.

After a couple of very helpful calls to Tim and Rory, I was confident enough to put a deposit on an almost new SLK that was a very high spec. On returning from my holiday a week later, I went to collect the vehicle and was totally amazed when I arrived:
